Fed up of dirty streets....

Would I be correct to say that there are less or virtually no street sweepers these days?

Youll find most people would agree that birminghams suburbs need them back.

Time to recruit?

Why the contribution is important

I , and many others(?)  have noticed that street litter is getting out of control in many wards.

Yep, that can be a problem too, spillage or excess rubbish from bin collections, with no one at hand to clean it up.

I remember that being a street sweeper used to pay very well too. Maybe a recruitment drive is needed highlighting the good pay!

Didn't a lot of bin men used to BE street sweepers? And got the upgrade to being a bin man?

How can we help people stop littering?

Sometimes it feels like there aren't enough litter bins - I end up carrying my banana skin for 20 mins, I can understand people giving up and dropping them!

I'd be interested in helping tidy up my street if someone would lend me a litter picker!
