Introduce collection of household used/waste cooking oils

Many millions are currently spent on the removal of blockages in our  sewerage systems caused by the disposal of oils and grease into domestic drains. If a domestic collection of used oils was introduced , say on a quarterly basis, residents would be much less inclined to dispose of it irresponsibly in this way. The  cost of this service  would be more than offset by the subsequent savings made from  reducing the necessity to remove such blockages. The oil collected could also be sold on to commercial companies who refine it for re-use.

Why the contribution is important

Pollution of rivers and waterways is a serious concern for all of us and the -avoidable-cost of removing contaminants is inevitably passed on to the consumer.
